Talk about noise: City Mall!! Went to the new grocery and they had this loop playing "shop more ... get more ... savings at save more" over and over and over and turned up so loud you cannot talk to the person right next to you. Drove me crazy, told my wife to finish grocery shopping and I would meet her in the Food Court. It was even worse, the concrete and tile construction make the food court a giant echo chamber and cacophony of people yelling to talk over the noise and the karaoke that was going on at max volume made it unbearable. Got out of there and went to walk around in the mall, loud pa announcements going on in the overhead speakers, someone had a pa setup and were giving something away but it was turned up so loud you could not understand a word they were saying - a table was setup outside Handyman and someone with a headset on was giving a demo of something turned up so loud to try to be heard over all the other noise that was going on. There is no escape, every place you can go in that mall is acoustic torture! The managers of City Mall have done a very good job at creating an environment that makes you want to get out of there as fast as possible!

I distinctly remember being at Robinson's Mall and the noise there was so loud, especially when they had events going on in the center, that we could not carry on conversations in the restaurants inside the mall. The bass of the music would be so loud it would cause me to have palpitations. I see no reason whatsoever for them to have that level of noise. The Philippines, with their jeepneys, pedicabs, unmuffled scooters, karaoke, etc....is just a very noisy place.

Checking noise level is an important thing when looking for a nice living place. A good looking house is less value if there is lot of noises around it.
