Have you ever heard of a Berkey water filter? I brought three to the Philippines my last trip. You can pour any water, from just about anywhere inside with a few drops of bleach and wala you have purified drinking water. The filters will last longer if you strain out heavy organic matter first. I have owned one for 8 years and stopped buying bottled water then. The ones I brought with me were for family members in Iloilo and Baguio.
Watching the mad daily dash of the water bottle delivery vehicles keeps us counting our savings via doing it ourselves. Treating water first with a sacrificial and cheap sediment filter followed by progressively finer cartridges also saves on the cost. After a half-micron carbon block we finish with a Doulton Sterasyl ceramic cartridge. After many years of use there's nothing to brush off and it may last forever.
The houses we've built have fully cemented septic tanks for toilet waste and separate soakaways for grey water.
My septic tank is a large 3 chamber tank for the toilets, the third chamber goes out to the drainage ditch. Grey water and most downspouts go directly to the ditch. The kitchen sink goes to a grease trap before hitting the other catch basins. Shawn
THANKS, That is why I have six hand cleaners set around the house, but after 10 years of training, no one but me use them!! But I'm still trying.
