Ludwig's German Bakery - opposite Hypermart. They do rye, half rye and wholewheat bread and rolls.There is also a Ludwigs in Valencia but they are closing shortly, for a month's holiday.

 

Bakery downstairs by super market Lees Plaza..Also there English Muffins are xlnt

 

Brian, that wheat bread from Katz is pretty good. I didn't know you were having trouble getting something you liked. You know I make a lot of bread, just let me know what you want and I will make it for you. Whole wheat, rye, 7 grain, yeast bread, tortillas. Take a look at Joy's facebook page and let me know if you want any of those oatmeal raisin or chocolate chip cookies and they are yours. I am pretty sure I can send the stuff through Norm.

 

Why Not Restaurant Deli - good choice of european style bread, not sweet, also wholewheat bread available - some local bakeries offer wholewheat toast in the supermarkets, just try it out for your taste - the supply here in Dumaguete and around is all in all good for bread lovers :-)

 

Rollin Pin bakes it fresh daily (don’t know about Sundays).

Yes sour dough bread proving hard to find! Have had a nice Rye loaf from Ludwigs bakery next to Mandaue Foam opposite the Hypermarket on Jose Romaro Road. Trying his Wholewheat & Multigrain bread now and this has a nice flavour and crumb texture. It is a bit hit and miss what they have so go early not late

 

Katz makes their own wheat bread and you can order it there from the staff...

 

Actually, the bakery next to the left front of the Robinsons Grocery (facing out) has some pretty good whole wheat bread. Hope it's not too sugary for you... Also like Rollin Pin, especially the croissants

 

And it does very nice cheese tarts, quiche, baguettes ... plus other items.
