It should be noted however that the company is also open to other operators to cater to the vast potential of the market. In fact, this is the reason why they Maxboat will not be operating the Cebu City to Liloan route of the water bus because this route is going to be operated by one of their boat building clients.

When Will the Water Bus Start Operations?
The water bus service is set to officially start operations around May or April 2018. 5 vessels are scheduled to start operating by then.

The initial sea trials as well as official launching is set on March 2018.

I may consider myself as a rather frequent user of the RoRo ferry between Sibulan and Lilo An and yes 9 out of 10 they are on time. More particular in case of some delay it will almost not exceed more than 10 minutes. Wish I could say same about all the domestic flights I did use since 2008.

Agree. When I decide to go somewhere I just go, no real thought needs to be put into it. There is almost always an option to get where I'm going when I want to go there. It's not as if I'm in a hurry or have to be somewhere at a certain time...and if that is the case I go a day early and stay in a pension house on the cheap then head back after I'm finished. Stressing about how to get to or achieve the stated goal in the Philippines will drive you insane. Just go with it.

Cebu Pacific sells one 45 min flight from Duma to Cebu on certain weekday eve for about 1589 peso and return early morning for same price... about the same as the Jet boat ...

I am not sure but the article says you can go from Cebu to Santander for 100 pesos. Considering the 20 minute trip from Santander to Sibulan is 72 pesos that 100 sounds incredibly cheap. Literally incredible.

Sundays are by far the most preferable day to travel from Lilo An to Cebu city no matter using Ceres bus or your own 4 wheels. What is easier to compare is the difference in fare of various means of transport. Oceanjet nowadays charges 1500 peso for an OW Dumaguete - Cebu city (Tourist class) and even 2020 peso for Business class. Though Cebu Pacific can suffer some delays once in a while, Oceanjet is also not always on schedule.
All in all Oceanjet is far overpriced, so I rather stick to my own 4 wheels which can be done in about 3,5 hours or less.

I am not sure of your question because LiloAn (in the south) is a barangay of Santander. It could be reasonably assumed that the water bus would dock at the port in LiloAn, Santander.

I wouldn't have expected them to give an answer due to their professional discretion, but they know.

The governor of the province flies into Dumaguete/Sibulan on frequent occasions and it would be surprising if he didn't mention the state of the airport to his entourage within the hearing of the stewardess and other interested parties. Pilots might not hear all the gossip but the stewardesses can, if they are interested.
