Look at Japan. Had two atomic bombs dropped on it, was on the losing side of WWII, the Philippines was on the winning side. Yet Japan can power their country, barring natural disasters. Same with South Korea, devastated in the early 50's, left in ruins, take a look at it now.

If it weren't for the stubbornness of the Filipino and the to an extent greed, you would think they would have asked decades ago a country like Japan, South Korea, China, Hong Kong, Singapore, Australia or New Zealand to come in and establish a working reliable energy system. Those countries don't seem to have these problems.

But, if you think about it, this for me has always been the way here since I first came here in the mid 70's. Who in their right mind allows trees to be planted anywhere near power lines or who looks around sees the trees and decides this will be a good spot to site the power poles?

I live in bali indonesia ,and I have to say the power is good , stable voltage no spikes or drops , the occasional cut during maintenance a couple of times a year for a few hours , I have had a stabilizer, cheap, around 20usd for 8 years, but it hardly ever does anything . How is it possible the Philippines is so bad ? , sounds like some of the african countries I lived in including somalia pre war .
Sorry for you guys and you also pay a fortune in electricity bills for the privilege !

Plus we have fast mobile internet 4glte I pay 8usd per month for 40gb ,

I once thought about the philipines as a place to retire ,but I think il stick with bali for the moment ,it aint perfect for sure ,but it seems the philipines is worse ,sorry to say.

Whats wrong with this company atm! It never ends.
A few weeks ago on the sunday brownout it was late back on then they couldnt keep it on,then the next day 3 more brown outs.
Then over the last 24hrs we have had 4 more, every time it rains its off, slightest breeze its off.
Now sort of off again, will run a light bulb but thats it. Never an apology or explanation. But still the high charges

Should be Norecco's job and Norecco should simply show up with a very large bill for repair and an estimate of potential damages to other clients due to a sudden brownout. If Norecco could hold private individuals responsible for carelessness causing brownouts financially I'm sure those issues would stop quick.

Nothing will happen until their is a lawsuit against NORECO or a law that states they are responsible for damaged equipment.

    ,
Hi fyi info Indonesia has been a vigorous democracy for the last 20 years , ya not perfect for sure ,all the usual developing country problems ,corruption etc .
But it has a good president in jokowi , bpjs a universal health care system ,which costs me 6 usd per month ,treatment free including dental , hospitals and dentists leave something to be desired in the way of equipment and maybe staff training ,but in general they do their best.

As i said the sooner these monopolys are gone the better. Another 11 hrs on sunday albeit the ngcp not noreco. But it does make you wonder about why as we supply most of the power to other islands. Why is it every few weeks we get a sunday without power?
