If i remember correctly it was tried once here around 2013 and didnt even last a week. And will never happen here as the trike mafia are too strong.
A few yrs back they went on strike about costs,it changed dumaguete instantly, there was no traffic at all and no jams anywhere, just a shame they cant get rid of the junk permanently.

The letter comes out of Camp Crame and is based on a complaint by a bus company. On Luzon, especially the Metro areas there are lots of buses for the public to use to get from one Metro area to another and points in between. Here in Dumaguete there are no local buses that ply the small routes, just Jeepneys and the Ceres (big yellow jeepney, as it stops everywhere). Just out of practical need and lack of mass transportation, the trykes will continue and we must just exercise due caution to our utmost unless they start making them obey some traffic rules.

Trikes have always been banned from national highways...it was just never enforced. I'm not sure why they have to pick and choose which laws they are going to enforce for the week, I'm just glad that they don't enforce most of the rules.
