If you have wrenchs you're a mechanic. Hammer and saw them a carpenter if you add a square to the tools then a cabinet maker.
Seriously some of the tradesman here are outstanding. You need to look at jobs they have done for other customers.
I watched the guy that built my house cut a cornice molding by eye. If I had a $1000 compound angle miter saw the job would not be as good.

I was amazed at the incredible skills that my carpenter there had. He only had an 8th grade education, but I only had to draw a picture of what I wanted and he could do it. He charged pennies compared to what we pay here. He had no "formal" training, no license, nothing, but I would put the quality of his work up against anyone here in the US, considering he didn't have the equipment available to him that they do here.

https://www.quora.com/What-is-the-standard-construction-labor-cost-in-the-Philippines
This is what I know. 70/30 is my estimate based on what I had learned. I’ve been going to Philippines for awhile now. Since then I have had 2 family members and a friend build a home. 30% as being labor,or labour lots fancy pinoys you know. All three of course being locals. 80/40 for non locals(lol). 100sqm 1,500,000pisos, so roughly 500,000 pisos. Lot not included, the labor cost includes a building engineer, he’ll now much to pay the laborer. Just make sure you personally pay every employee. Once a week, and document everything.
In the Philippines, when it comes to building a home it’s all estimate. Sometime lower, mostly higher. If you are planning, ask the local for recommendation. This way you’ll know who NOT to hire. Go around and if you see a home you like, both aesthetic and quality of build. I would ask for there advise, most cases there more than happy to help you.
I’ve heard of a company named, Philippine Construction. They have a system called here Buhos. Means to pour. They have premade templates, and pour cement between the forms to construct your home. Like we have here in the states. If I was building, I be would interested in this. Take Care……-
