Emergency Best Posts in Thread: Random stabbings in Dumaguete

This report had been confirmed by PNP that 3 separate stabbing incidents had happened around the city. The 3 suspects are riding a Smash motorcycle and what they do is just to randomly stab anyone they see. The 3 stabbing incidents happened around 12:00 am and the 3 victims were stabbed with ice picks as the suspects would just drive by aboard their Smash motorcycle. Just be careful. These 3 suspects could be drug addicts, who knows? Why should they do that? Don't get confused---there are 3 suspects and there had been 3 victims already.

 

Ouch, sounds painful, I hope they catch the bastards soon.

ON FAKE REPORTS OF STABBING SPREE;
NETIZENS URGED TO STOP SPREADING UNVERIFIED REPORTS

FOR THE RECORD, Dumaguete City Chief-of-Police Lt. Col. Gregorio Galsim states the following:

1. There were only three victims who were stabbed in the morning of July 20, no other similar incidents were recorded as of this time

2. The suspects or persons of interest are now being profiled by the police for appropriate action, including possible filing of charges

3. The PNP is reviewing CCTV footage to help unmask the perpetrators

4. In compliance to the directive of Mayor Felipe Antonio Remollo more patrols and checkpoints are being conducted particularly in bars, restaurants, call centers and Internet cafes

5. There are police officers present and assigned in the police outpost at Portal West
6. There is no serial killer on the loose
7. There is no proof that the pointed object used in the stabbing was contaminated with HIV

8. Lt. Col. Galsiim urged the members of the public to be more responsible by not spreading fake and exaggerated reports of stabbings which only tend to exacerbate the situation and create panic

9. The PNP is on top of the situation and will not rest until the suspects are captured and behind bars

10. Again, should there be any untoward incident or suspicious persons kindly contact the local police through these numbers

Not fake----victims have been brought to the hospital and pictures are shown of the wounds inflicted by these stabbings.

For the police, if there are no reports or if incidents are not reported in the police blotter, everything is fake. Victims should make a report to the police. The thing is, people usually do not report to the police when there is no death. Although these stabbings are not fatal, I think they still need to be reported and recorded in the police blotter.

 

That would be a most appropriate ending for them.
