To create a level playing field, only senior citizens should be allowed to purchase liquor.

    Executive Order Follows.

Here are new developments as per Provincial IATF collective decision effective May 20, 2020, re:

    1. Selling of liquor and other alcoholic beverages is now allowed. Drinking in public places remains strictly prohibited.

    2. Sale of the foregoing products is allowed from 9AM to 5PM only. The Local Government Units throughout the Province especially the Barangays have to strictly monitor the implementation of this measure with the assistance of the PNP and the AFP. Selling before and after this period would be dealt with accordingly.

    3. Merchandise delivery of liquor and alcoholic beverage products, and cigarettes to warehouses for "stocking", and stores for "retailing" is already allowed.

    4. Drinking Bars and Pubs are still closed. Drinking of liquor or any alcoholic beverages inside these establishments is strictly not allowed under any circumstances.

For this purpose, the public is enjoined to properly follow the Guidelines.

    Thank you.

Agreed, I only seen more horn tooting. I could take things a lot less serious here with a cold beer in my hand.

Even with the harshest of methods they didn't manage to make a real dent in illegal drug consumption in the past, so I don't think anybody in their right mind will attempt to outlaw alcohol, criminalizing even larger parts of the population.

It'll not only hurt the local alcohol producing industry (although they could attempt to ramp up production of exportgrade stuff this won't be too easy short term) but also tourism. There's not too big a market for alcohol free vacations I think. Add to that the loss of tax income and I don't see how they could possibly do that.

Unless they prepare for a muslim takeover

I've been coming to Dumaguete for 20 years and living here for five and haven't heard of LSP either, though I assumed he meant Lee Plaza.

any climber should know the best (age) coconut stem to catch the juice from but, in general, a bunch of young nuts or flower buds ( i dunno which) are cut off the stem that connects them to the tree and the end of the remaining stem is inserted into the cup to catch the juice.

Good question. And my question is, what has the liquor ban have to do with COVID19? One could say that having commercial drinking establishments open discourages social distancing but banning sale for home consumption makes little sense to me. It is as if there us some anti-alcohol agenda at play, perhaps based on people’s personal religious beliefs, and people are taking advantage of a bad situation to create a prohibition. However, I cannot connect any of this to a reduction of deaths due to COVID19. If there were, other countries would enact similar bans but it’s not banned in the country I come from and probably not EU, UK or ANZ, which have plenty of expertise in SARS type respiratory diseases, at least not that I’m aware of.

If that's the bottles in the blue box, I think Paddy's in Bacong has that.

Now I know why the sari sari stores have been texting me. Only just logged on here and read about the ban being lifted. Got 4 crates of red horse.
Guess who's going to get pissed tonight, at home of course.
