If you are 60+ you cannot get into dumaguete city without a pass or certificate from barangay captain. This targeted action on 60+ people causes many problems; however, it is the law of our host country.

Having asawa run errands is only a solution of you married somebody young. If you married in the same age bracket, she is banned too.

The Barangay here understands the problem; though they do not say so, I think they know this is not well thought-out for foreigners but there is nothing they can do about it. I am really impressed by barangay here; they never fail to give a certificate whenever we ask.

Hope most expats 60+ with asawa of same age has a barangay captain like ours.

We will not forget the kindness.

That's possible but we also have to remember that there is a lot that was produced prior to the quarantine that is just sitting around. Tanduay is aged 5, 8, 10, 12 and 15 years (allegedly), there should be plenty of that available. Imported liquor is also likely just sitting around in storage.

Beer on the other hand...I don't know. I'm sure there are stockpiles sitting around the country but brewing processes for that are much shorter than that for liquor.

Many absolutely would. Judging from pictures I saw from social media, I think that was very apparent right after they lifted the ECQ and it was assumed the alcohol ban was lifted. I good portion of the local and expat community here are incapable of taking any of this serious or acting responsibly which, just like last time they eased the quarantine rules, will screw the rest of us. You can't fix stupid and we are dead set on not allowing natural selection to do its thing.

It is easily understood that it is less consequential to keep the 60-over on lock down than turning us loose. Still, we do have basic needs - doctor-pharmacy-dental-bank-essential needs shopping, beverage of choice, etc. So that needs to be taken into consideration, PLEASE.

Sorry, how does that work? If there are no cases, there will surely be no resistance built up? We are just sitting here waiting to be infected when the borders reopen. We might as well be having some fun in the meantime.

I'm pretty sure San Miguel also has a brewery along the highway close to Bacolod. Things are going fairly well in Negros Occidental if I recall. Beer may be back in stock fairly soon after the GCQ end. Hopefully.

I have a feeling you're not going to get a logical response, but I love to be pleasantly surprised. We're separated from Cebu by an expanse of water well beyond the definition of safe social distancing, so I can't see any reason to stay locked down this way within the Negros borders. I haven't seen anyone yet argue that free travel to this island should be allowed, at this time. You're also most likely right about the immunity. From what I've noted in my life, people don't generally develop an immunity to something they aren't exposed to.

How bonkers can it get?! There's no logical reason to keep NegOr province tied into the rest of Region 7. It's madness.
