Never underestimate the level of entitlement many of these types have. They get to pick and choose which rules they should follow.

For 7 months, almost all of the close to 2 million Negros Oriental people have put with and followed the rules, some of which have been rather foolish to put it mildly. Now because 2 people think that the virus only goes after a certain class of people, we are back to April.
I hope no one got rid of those Q Passes. I'm going out and stocking up on my essentials, wine and whiskey.
Latest, one more positive from the City Health Office. Waiting for the Market to be the next one closed for 'disinfection'.
Someone has some 'splaining to do. This is disgraceful conduct. Shame on them.

I would want to know their name in case the Stupid SOB's had been around me or my family.

There is another potential outcome. The wagging tongue could end up dead like any of the 3 radio personalities that have been killed in the last 2 years. One of the VIP's held a press conference to let everyone know he was negative and that turns out to be a lie. Ba$tard.

There were 3 VIP's that came to Dumaguete on a private plan on October 3. It seems they didn't want a cotton swab stuffed up there nose so they didn't. All 3 are positive for covid19 after mone of them started to show symptoms. As I understand the protocol they should have been tested and self quarantined until the test results were known (not 100% sure this is a fact). These jokers were obviously in a sharing mod for a change and have passed the virus on to at least 2 helpers.

I 'm unimpressed to understate the situation.

if i am reading it correctly, the philippine red cross has stopped covid testing. it has performed i think i read about one third of the tests done in the philippines.. philhealth has not paid red cross around 930 million pesos for the work done so far so the red cross has suspended further testing

That is a correlation, not a causation. People who have low vitamin D levels are generally older and more frail people who aren't able to be active outside. These people will almost always have worse health outcomes than active people. Supplementing vitamin D in this demographic does not help with their recovery from COVID-19.

Unscrupulous people are going to make a killing out of this. Throw any old rubbish in a bottle, put on a label saying how your granny uses it and has not had Covid and every idiot will buy it.

i have learned from reviewing multiple studies (two done in third world nations) that... (1) wearing a properly-fitted face mask when exposed to the SARS-CoV-2 virus... does not prevent you from being exposed to the virus... but instead lowers the quantity of the virus (inoculate) you will receive... and the size of the inoculate you receive greatly affects the outcome of your case... so continue to wear your properly-fitted face mask and if your mask is not a properly-fitting face mask... then get one soon (2) if you succeeded in reducing the inoculate size of the SARS-CoV-2 virus (using a properly-fitted face mask)... but due to various physiological complexities you still become ill... it is imperative to begin taking the proper therapeutic drugs as soon as possible after you first begin experiencing symptoms of Covid-19 disease... so do not wait several days if you feel you might have Covid-19... get tested promptly and if positive begin taking therapeutic drugs ASAP... (3) there are several studies that indicate taking certain readily available inexpensive drugs in combination with each other... significantly increases the likelihood of a positive outcome for your case... so get informed what the name of these drugs are and know which pharmacies have these drugs in stock should you become ill with Covid-19 disease... sorry if this old news for any of you...but for some of us old folk... a post like this might help because we need things to be simplified... anyway let's focus on what matters most... surviving this virus if possible. i wish each of you the best of outcomes.

I have written before about how Dumaguete / Negros Oriental have been lucky so far with the lack of local/community transmission here.
I now fear our stretch of luck may be coming to an end. This episode with the APOR (Authorized person out of residence) infecting a whole bunch of others upon his return to Dumaguete, which occurred on October 3, meaning that between then and yesterday there were a full 12 days of unsuspecting others he had been in contact with going around town and possibly causing further spread, before offices were "closed for disinfection" and families put under quarantine.
Keep your fingers crossed this won't be the start of cascading new infections here.
One other recent new case (apparently unrelated) of a health worker in barangay Calindagan is also very concerning in this respect.

Seems that somewhere in the pre and transit process people get infected. So people could arrive here, get swabbed, but need to be swabbed again 2-3 days later. That's good for people like you and me, but if you have pull the process can be circumvented. I had this theory that the less dense the population, the more cooperation which I'll have to burn now, because privilege tears right through it. And there's lockdowns in parts of Zamboangita I've read. I was hoping we could last out for longer. Now I have my doubts.
