Take care............... As I understand it Flowmaxtra, its other name, is for enlarged prostate and not for elevated PSA. (Cancer). You require another tablet for PSA reduction and under the care of a doctor, not to do just for yourself. I have been on Flowmaxtra since 2014 and have had radiation for the Prostate and been on injections (Elegard) and pills (Cosudex and going to Anandron) now it is again increasing. Treatment started 2015. PSA going up and down, best seen was 0.4, worst was 93 and now I am elevating again to 58., Now am on Zytiga assisted with Cortisone to reduce tumors confirmed by PET scans because it has now gone into some bones. Best of luck to all who has this. Saw a friend die from it in Dumaguete miserably a few years ago, he left it untreated and when it took hold it went off like a rocket. Take care. Please. (I am 81 by the way, maybe someone up there thinks I habe been arounds long enough but trying like hell, with the doctors help, to prove him wrong.)

Jack, I am like you and most seniors here. My PSA advancing with age. I haven’t seen Dave for about a year. I met him 10 years ago right after he arrived and he told me about his cancer and was planning on riding it our. Last time I saw him he looked as handsome as ever. I agree with Dave, the risks of prostate removal, from what I am researching and hearing are disturbing, particularly if done here. I need 10 more years to get my son in college but not planning on the surgery if or when it becomes cancer. I saw my SMC doctor again today and he told me to get another PSA test in 3 months.

Is a topic on the ‘prostate’ okay, too personal, or taboo? Some of us may (eventually) have to face up to this issue.
