There is a newish Thai restaurant that I tried last night called Aquarius. It's about 2 km south of Dauin down a short lane on the ocean side of the highway. The couple recently moved here after living for quite a while in Koh Lanta running a dive shop. The wife is a filipina but cooks authentic Thai, at least from the dishes we tried. Our first time so we had the som tam and tom yum and our friends had satay and larb. The som tam, tom yum and satay were excellent, after living in Thailand for the past 5 years I was pleased at how good the food was. They said they toned the spices down for the local clientele so if you like it spicy you have to let them know. Very accommodating couple with good food. We're already talking about a second visit.

I can now say I have tried everything on their menu, mostly via take out. All good, all different. I msg on FB and pick up when ready.

Yup, went there today and we enjoyed the food very much. They have authentic Thai food (the best I have ever had in the Philippines), pizza, pasta, German and Austrian food. Follow the Facebook link above in a previous post and Google Maps, plus they have a good road sign/sandwich board now, so it's easy to find. Parking no problem in front of the restaurant.
Bon appetit/gin khao/enjoy your meal!- Informative x 2

I can’t decide if I like the red chicken curry or the yellow chicken curry the best. Both different but great flavors. The Thai starters I like are the chicken satay and the larb gai ( minced chicken), both filling and almost a meal.
Everything have nice blended spices.- Like x 2

Heading south just past the cock pit. Google maps misleading.- Like x 1

Aquarius Thai/Euro Resto Dauin: WOW! Probably the most authentic THAI food served in all of Greater Dumaguete City. Tried most of what's on the Thai portion of the menu. Peter and Jovelyn are great owners/hosts. Small, shaded parking area available along the dirt road, across from the restaurant. "Than hai im, na khrap/Kha" (eat until you're full or bon appetit)....
Will be returning to Aquarius on a regular basis. They get shipments from Thailand where they lived for a couple decades of stuff impossible to get here. Sign is a "sandwich board" sitting on the ground next to the dirt road, about half a click beyond downtown dauin, ocean side of National. Arguably one of the best Thai in the visayas.- Thanks x 1
