I think this needs putting more into perspective so I did a little research....what else would you do on a Saturday morning? lol

Anyway - some numbers:

The Average wage in the USA is $55k pa which equates to about Php 7500/day. In the UK it's GBP 31.5k which equates to about Php 5600/day whilst in the Philippines it's Php 162k (Php 444/day).
The published electricity prices (per kWh) in the same 3 countries are $0.132 (Php 6.6), GBP 0.125 (Php 8) and, as we know Php 10.

Therefore a day's pay buys you 1,136 kWh (USA), 701 kWh (UK) and 44.4kWh (Philippines) respectively.

Therefore I consider the price of electricity in the Philippines extremely expensive.
