They accept foreign and domestic debit cards which they shoulder a fee required by BDO who processes debit card payments for the Philippines. Using debit cards is not a cash sale but the merchant must pay a fee to accept your debit card for a purchase.
Polaris sells Dakin a premium brand who also trains their installers and technicians under the supervision of a
bonafide engineer. They are busy, wait your turn.

Appliance Centrum has their own installers who I have used to install a Sharp inverter and they had the proper tools and knowledge to do the job right. I didn't have to wait they were here the next day removing the old and installing the new.

The two features not found on my other 6 ac/inverters was the horizontal sweep that moves cool air to the corners of the room and the BABY feature that draft free increases the air volume up and down to keep a constant temperature without drafts.

Regardless of the brand, regular disassembly and cleaning is a must. After a few years if your cooling isn't quite keeping up and want professional troubleshooting call JTP Refrigeration and Airconditioning. They chargeP500 cash and will give an estimate.

So they are being a bit cheeky when they say, "free installation".

What they mean is, "free mounting, free refrigerant and free 10 feet of copper."

Hiring an electrician to wire up the air-con is not included. (Not disclosed during purchase but verified when I contacted the sales guy after the installation guys told me about this.)

To me, "installation" means the unit will be installed and fully operational when the install team is finished. You don't install a car stereo and leave the wiring harness unplugged. I never installed a radio jammer without hooking up the power and testing if it worked first. It's a bit disingenuous, IMO

No worries though, the installers knew an electrician who was immediately available. I wanted it installed when they showed up today so I went with their extremely overpriced electrician. (I am almost certain the electrician's labor cost was cut between the three of them as the price was well above minimum wage in the US and they were all three talking about where they were going to drink their tanduay later on tonight.) Whatever, I have a working air-con now. Cold tiles and cold toilet seat, I'm happy with it. Let them enjoy their night out, I'm sure it will be pissed away and it will benefit them in no meaningful way.

I watched most of the install. Same corners cut that I would have made myself if I had the tools (nothing outrageous)...minus the electrician cutting into the mains without killing the power, while precariously balancing on a 3 meter high wall while doing so, first...even after I offered to go flip the breaker.

Overall I'm content with Centrum. They would be a potential option for any future appliance purchases. 4 star for Philippines standards.

I tried to use my Master Card to buy an aircon and they wouldn't accept it. A cancelled flight got refunded and Master Card told me I could take the credit as a Cash Advance and settle that at months end. I was damned if I was going to pay them a fee to get my own money into my own hands. On a happy note. I bought a new NMax from the Yamaha dealer on my credit card. They charged me 2.5% but that's okay because it was my choice. I really like the bike. I can go places in style, if I had somewhere to go.

I'm growing some peppers from seeds I got from a Jalapeno pepper (hot) easy to grow and look good, they start green and later turn red.
Only planted them 2 weeks ago so still a few months to go.

Chillies look good as they ripen over a period of time, so giving variations of colour in the fruits. I think you are a fan of chillies.

    I don't know.
Automobile, frost free refrigerator, A/C, plants and now cooking.

FYI: Although it may make logical sense to you because she has a job and you have a lot of free time, the SO is not going to be happy when you want to stay home to take care of the baby while she works. (and do not mention the thought of getting a nanny under these circumstances.)

I would prefer some plants that have some utility other than shade or looking pretty. Something I can eat or use to cook with. I'll ask the SO to look into it. If there is procrastinating on it then I guess I will start doing some research myself.

I am using a debit card! There were no fees involved apart from the actual trading fee (just like for an ATM withdrawal). The bank I am using is one of the new style Internet based banks that has popped up in Europe, Revolut! Their exchange rates for currencies are much better than general banks and you are allowed to have multiple currency accounts. I see no reason to open a local bank account at all actually.

You could consider sleeping matts. I think they are made of grass and are colourful, cheap as well.

Thanks. Just got back from Centrum. Purchased an air-con and decided on purchasing a new ref (inverter non-frosting style as well to replace my older and smaller one).

No discount on the air-con (Sharp Split 2HP standard inverter), P47,300. Free installation.
Ref (Samsung 9.9 cubic ft bottom freezer) was P30k, discounted to P28,150 + the standard free rice cooker.
    Delivery fee to Valencia P260.

Sales guy knew his appliances pretty well. Checkout took some time with all the serial numbers being hand-jammed but that was expected. (Guard also took my receipt and hand jammed them into his log book upon exiting as well. First time I've ran across this but I guess there is a reason they do it.)

    AMEX a no-go. Visa ok.

Satisfied with the experience so far. Will post if anything goes wrong during delivery or install.
