it takes time to learn to have "More f

Doesn't seem like you have really adapted to the local culture. If you had you would have said you love all the things that really does not exist here. You would have denied the you actually had vices, and probably claimed you grandma did such a huge favor for one of the local chiefs three centuries back and that he gave your ancestors some great piece of land... hm... like the site of Why Not. Soon you would have condemned the US for not sending the Navy to protect your asset. It takes time to conform the the ways of the Filipino Culture. Just give yourself time and soon you will blend in.... acting just like the locals. peeing on the local walls around town.

it takes time to learn to have "More Fun in the Philippines"

Doesn't seem like you have really adapted to the local culture. If you had you would have said you love all the things that really does not exist here, claiming they did. You would have denied the you actually liked things that could be consider vices by some others, but you really held scared in your own heart if you were really adapting to the culture. When you learn to claim your grandma did such a huge favor for one of the local chiefs three centuries back and that he gave your ancestors some great piece of land... hm... like the site of Why Not, then you know you are learning the cultures and ways of the Filipinos. When you learn to condemn the US for not sending the Navy to protect your newly declared asset and called on all Americans to stand up for your national identity then you are starting to make progress on blending in here. It takes time to conform the the ways of the Filipino Culture. Just give yourself time and soon you will blend in.... acting just like the locals. You may want to start with the little things, like peeing on the local walls around town, or impregnation as many local ladies as possible and abandoning them to fend for their own lives and the lives of your off spring.

It was Imp's fault... I never did that...

I see that we all have a good sense of humor this morning.

I just want everyone to know that I am not responsible for the previous post attributed to Dave & Imp. I dosed off this morning and Imp took over my computer. I tried to punish him by making him donate to the Thursday Fund for the school.... 1000 P and two cans of Fancy Feast... but he is protesting to the UN as inhuman treatment but what should he expect being he is a cat. He says the UN will take so long to figure it out, all the kids will have graduated from school and wont need supplies any more.

Pat O, let me know where I should have IMP drop off the Pesos and cans of Fancy Feast. Imp really does not care about the Pesos (comes out of my pocket) but giving up two cans of Fancy feast is killing him....

Singly written by Dave.... Imp is in solitary now.

That is an absolutely brilliant quote that completely describes living in the Philippines.

My grandpa was in the Navy back when ships were made of wood and men made of steel. I do recall a story about him having a Red Horse with Lapu Lapu which resulted in a bolo fight, he defeated old Lapu and took mercy only after Lapu promised to hand over the entire island of Mactan. I need everyone to move off my island now.

Of course you can. My Visayan is neither Cebuano or Dabawenyo but a functional mishmash of many. Some native speakers will be aghast to hear their language "murdered" that way, but as I can get my point through, that's all that matters.

Besides, your ignorance and cultural insensitivity clearly shows when you call Tagalog as "Tagarbage". None of my posts claim it superior to any other languages in the Philippines, but it should be able stand by its own merits and proof of that is the richness of literature written in that language form, Tagalog (not Filipino.)

Drop the pesos off to PatO and he will pass them to me. I will use the Fancy Feast as a treat for Phoenix, my favourite stray. :p

For F's sake. Please read this: Filipino language - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Tagalog went from Tagalog to Pilipino to Filipino. All the changes were efforts to establish a national language and to not allow non-tagalog people to get butt hurt. The Filipino language has been further and further dissociated with tagalog for this reason alone. There are many variants of Tagalog just as there are of Visayan. So yes, different regions will speak different variants of Tagalog, but they are called something else. Your government says they changed it for other reasons.....but guess what, governments lie and play with words to appease the voters.

Binisaya (i was wrong when I wrote it was called Bisaya, Bisaya is the people) and Cebuano are the same language. I imagine the name changes as you move away from Cebu, again so as not to butt hurt anyone not from Cebu. While you might point across with your mixed language it would not be considered proper when dealing with government and or business. Just as someone who ONLY speaks Spanglish (English and Spanish mixed) in America would not be considered an educated person and likely wouldn't get too far in life.

When I say to Tagarbage I'm referring to when people mix the english and Tagalog. You call it Taglish I call it Tagarbage (or monkey jabber if I am really trying to p*ss someone off).

It seems that you are the one culturally ignorant to your own culture. Or else you completely choose to ignore the saving face aspect of your countrymen. For an outsider it is blatantly obvious why Tagalog was changed to Filipino.
