From the Dumaguete Animal Sanctuary:
We need your help!!
Over the next few months we hope to start implementing the next phase of our plan for a stray free Dumaguete.
Our shelter is in a relatively stable situation because of all the support you have extended to us over the last 3 years and now we are hoping to start mass spay and neuter campaigns for owned dogs and also strays.
Mass sterilization is the only way that we can end the suffering that you constantly see on our page, but as you can imagine it requires a huge amount of resources and a very aggressive campaign. We will also be giving rabies vaccination to all dogs and cats that are sterilised as a way to also erradicate rabies.
We have been working closely with one Municipality here (we will disclose detailed information at a later date) and are hoping to start in May.
We are starting to recruit vets from all across the Philippines who will volunteer their time, but we need to provide accomodations.
Is there anyone who would be willing to provide accomodations in a resort, guest house or Air B and B for a reduced rate - one that DAS could afford to pay? Ideally we would like to have a number of options that we could fall back on to house visiting vets.
We really do need the help of the local community now to help us finally resolve the stray problem here.
Also, if any vet clinics here could spare vet personnel for a few hours on one of our campaigns we would be so grateful.
