Let's put it like this JB (my YOUNG mate!) - they are NOT on my Christmas Card list.

But, then, nor is anyone else!

Figureheads immersed in hypocrisy (kill animals for fun and yet head animal welfare charities; have carbon footprints the size of small towns and yet head up Environmental organisations) and dodgy-dealings (which, in most cases, they isolate themselves from by doing that via lackeys).

And as to "I certainly prefer Royalty to a Dictatorship" - Ireland has no Royalty and nor does France; are either Dictatorships? It is very possible to be a Republic and NOT be a Dictatorship - let the people decide.

There is also often quoted what I regard as inane defences for a Monarchy, such as:

"If we had no Monarch we would have Tony Blair as President". Maybe - but ONLY if people VOTED for him!

"It costs each person only 1.5p a week to have a Monarchy". That may be a true fact but the £500 MILLION could be better spent on, for example, health, education, infrastructure.

And as for the fact they use the word "work" so often: I cannot believe that attending grand lunches and holidaying MOST of the year is work.

Finally (!) - in case anyone is not aware: ALL Charlies' medals were given to him by his Mummy for SERVICES to the Monarchy - i.e. for services to the business that keeps him in splendour. I have more respect for anyone who has just one medal that was earned.

I do tend to believe that King Charles, was alerted to further revelations and made the decision to strip him of his royal titles.
While I understand some peoples thinking of the Royal Family, throughout history, yes, there has been much controversy within the Monachy.
Present day, I look upon the Royal family, solely as figureheads of our country, the benefits of such, bring both trade and tourism to the UK.
I certainly prefer Royalty to a Dictatorship......regards JB

IMO the whole lot of them should be banished to the pit of pointlessness. They only 'serve' ONE thing - themselves.

ANDREW - not Edward. Edward is the current Duke of Edinburgh
