Depends where you live and how many exploiters / beggars there are. I've been in some places barely get any and other places 3-5 times a night. Places known more for *generous* middle class or foreigners get hit more often as well. Quite a few beggar types come in from other places during the Christmas period because they can make a lot of money in bigger cities especially with foreigners (as our wives / gf's often insist we give) yet those people follow the main residential lines. If you live in a spot less noticable to those who don't know it they pass you by thinking nothing of it.

Still yes it lasts more then 1 night and I've seen christmas beggars (not the real carolers) go from beginning of November and even still show up early Feb looking for that *merry pasco*. Still the idea isn't much different then my Halloween comparison.

My two dogs go to the gate and bark louder than the carollers but my wife still brings them out some pesos. Some years the Bacong police group come by, actually good singers. Beers and pesos for them.
