you cant have any railway tracks in the Philippines because people would live on them and alongside them. Any monorail train or bullet train would be reduced to 5 klm an hour.
I dont see it happening but if it did it would bring in economic growth for the cities surrounding areas. As for the trike drivers, dont ssee it effecting them much. It would be a ring rail and outward bound rail. Not effecting the trikes too much for smaller journeys within the city. You may lose a few votes from Barangays on the outskirts but gain more votes from development and jobs it provided. Why i typed this i dont know, i cant see it ever happening, traffic lights in a few places would be a start. Bored watching the election all day i guess haha
I think the monorail idea depicts the "grandiosity over convenience" mentality of the Filipino. So if I were to see the "Breaking News" as a part of a story, it goes this way: (A big space to indicate a change of scene, like how writers do, lol) The huge change didn't affect the simple life in the tiny village of San de Tarde. "Papa, I'm thirsty!" "You can not die if you will not drink a drop of H2O," replied the father holding a tape measure. Ugh, I almost said water, he thought. He checked the 12-inch point mark again and made it sure his thumb and forefinger was still in place as he climbed for the beams holding the ladder with his left hand. If his fingers moved a little bit from the line, then the length wouldn't be right. "So how was your teaching job?" "Normal stuff on a first day...kids introduced themselves," she paused and finished her drink. "There's this one kid....'I am Jose. I am San de Tarde.' English is too hard for him but I'm letting him pass. Not my problem, you know... the grade six teacher will deal with it." In the background, the radio program resumed after a commercial break. "We have a special guest this afternoon. Please welcome the honorable mayor of San de Tarde! "So mayor, what are your plans?" "Oh, I have so many plans... I plans eggplans, okra, kamote..." I am trying to envision what will happen the first time a tricycle starts counter flowing on the rail or a Montero Sport parks across it with the 4 ways blinking. They really need a mono rail here, not so much for transportation, but more for amusement.
