Yea, I would be wary of this, I done the same thing in aus , the second time I come over here, had 12 month multiple entry visa so thought all was good, nothing was said about the visa, which was attached to a page in my passport and was seen by the immig when I entered, when I went to leave 6 months later I was told to go to the naughty line as I had overstayed..i pointed out the visa in passport, and was told..no sir...no such thing sir...they didn't honour it, and had to pay big time as my plane was leaving ...

Yesterday morning was my first trip to the Bureau of immigration here in Dumaguete. All my paperwork was fine and had no problems getting my extension and a ARC-I card ordered. But something is seen their bothered me quite a bit. While I was waiting for my papers to be processed a American man came in he was 39 years old and sh*t face drunk is very loud and boisterous and could not even fill out some paperwork as his wife attempted to fill up the paperwork. He was speaking with another young gentleman telling him how he was a telemarketer home and that he had been ripped off by his bank and stole all his money back in the US I felt sorry for his young wife as you could truly see the embarrassment on her face. Later after I left the office my wife had told me of the conversation she had with the wife. My wife told me that they were married just four months ago when he arrived and that the young lady had to sell 2 of the family cows one to support them during his stay in the second pay for his trip home. This bothers me for some reason knowing that this put a great financial burden on the family. The young lady also told my wife very embarrassed with her friends family and neighbors due to her husband's drinking. Rant over

Acquiring a 59-day tourist visa in advance of coming gives some confidence and saves a renewal visit to immigratiion. But it is not an assurance of admittance. That is still up to the immigration officer at the airport. Therefore, the airline still wants to see a return or onward ticket.

I wonder if it will ever come that a visa is only granted or extended if the person can prove the have the funds or means to support themselves while living here. he sure has shattered one young ladys life n dreams.

When the crazy, sad, exaggerated stories are spoken at a higher than normal volume more than likely avoid the people. Amazed he was not told to leave and return when sober, and his wife should never have allowed him to enter the BOI office. Hope he gets his supposed troubles worked out.

People Come and people go, but in the main we are all above this. Too many times we hear bad luck Stories that (Well are they true?) lets face it Banks don't just Steal Money [Do they?] I feel so sorry for the Wife of 4 months but would have to ask, Why do you put up with it? Surely you knew he had no money before he came. Who Paid for the wedding?
Some will be saying OH jack's being harsh again, No Jack is being a realist. At 39 any man should be in complete control of things at home, asking a Lady to marry him when things are unstable and I tend to think this is a big sign of things will go wrong. One has to wonder just who was wearing the Rose Coloured glasses at the start of the relationship?
I know that the OP probably did not want to hear the answers that may come on this Thread but to me, I smell some sort of Scam starting here
Anytime I go out and hear a conversation like this is an opener for the day I get these very Loud Alarm bells start to ring.
If the young Lady, doesn't get things sorted I think a life of Misery lays ahead for her. or was it a Ruse?
I am very Surprised that Peter Bueno allowed this to continue and to me it was a prime example of why a Tourist visa should not be extended.
Sorry guys and Gals but this one has got me up tight with other things that are being said about us
it's just my Opinion But....................................
