The Dumaguete Hash House Harriers recently had a run based out of Aaah! Inn, Dauin. Being the person responsible for the venue, I must admit I was a little apprehensive about how well they would do with the food issue, as feeding 15 hungry foriegners is not easily accomplished by just anyone here in the city of gentle people. My concerns were completely unfounded. After talking with the owners about it, some of my fears dissapated. When we arrived for our 40th run/walk on Saturday, August 29, we were pleasantly surpised by a sign at the gate that announced, "Welcome Dumaguete Hash House Harriers!" We had a brisk 12 km hike through the local woods, and arrived back at Aaaah! Inn around 6 PM. After a brief rest and our "circle", we proceeded to the buffet dinner prepared by Aaah! Inn and it's staff. It was an awesome feed, and plenty to go around. The staff was very courteous and attentive, the food delicious with more variety and better quality than I had hoped for. For anyone looking for an out-of-the-way place for a small party or gathering, or just a place for a cold beer and a snack, I cannot recommend highly enough they check out Aaah! Shadow, I'm still planning to join on one of the coming runs. Can you publish the dates of the next two or three runs so I can take that date into account when making schedules.
Unfortunately, due to circumstances beyond our control, we cannot publish specific dates months ahead of time. We are lucky to get things lined up a week or two in advance. (The Aaah! Inn Hash finally came together on Wednesday for a Saturday Hash) The next Hash (tentatively) is set for September 26th and 27th. This will be an away run (overnighter) on Siquijor. Although this is the plan, nothing is as yet etched in stone. We are still looking for a good venue, someone who can put up 20 or so Hashers and feed them a good meal or two. If you can let me know which weeks are available to you, sometimes it is possible to work a Hash into those dates to accomodate you. On on, Shadow
I make reservation now for 26 + 27 September. Gonna wake up my honneponney now and ask her if she can (wants to) join. Let me hear if it changes. In principle weekends are ok unless I have certain family obligations. Thanks, Larry
