I'm leaving PI in 3 weeks, anyone know if there's a penalty on top of the $50 if I don't get the card before I leave? I'd be at the airport in MNL at 6am - maybe the office would be closed? Would they send me off somewhere in MNL to get the I card?
SurfinUSA, If You have 3 weeks, why not visit an immigrationoffice in that time. Just to avoid trouble in the airport and risk missing Your flight?
Why would you need to get the card before you leave? The card is a requirement for extending past 59 days, not leaving the country. If you are on a visa such as a tourist visa then you would likely (as best as I can tell from the immigration site) have to get a new card on arrival back into the Philippines anyways.
I've been here more than 6 mos btw. My ECC card is being processed now. Guess I'll have to go thru the I card routine just to be sure. - I don't plan on returning to the Philippines anytime soon
4,725,000,000 pesos.....using the numbers that d_guru put up. And, I think his numbers are a little light. At the rate I am going, it will be close to 30,000 by the end of the year. Yes people, that is Billion with a "B". And if my math is right, that translates to $104 million US dollars. That's almost better than getting "foreign aid" and a lot less trouble. Pretty slick......
..... Hi i am a newbie here, Hi, great site, will be in Dumaguete on 27th May see u all around ! So to my question....If i have my temp i-ACR card and leave Phil, do i still have to have a return ticket to say i am leaving PI at the end of the 21 days tourist visa like every other tourist, or can i wave the i-ACR card and will not be required the added expense of a flight ticket i have no intention of using ?
When you leave the phil, your temp ACR card expires, and is worthless. Therefore when you return you not only have to enter with a valid onward ticket, you have to acquire the ACR again to stay longer than 59 days. Larry
And.....I'm sure that different situations occur, but in my case, I had a round-trip ticket, and after arriving here, attemped to get a refund for the return flight and it was denied by the airlines. So, I paid $2177.00 for a one-way ticket from Houston to here. The reason the airline gave, was that it was too close to the return date in my case. So you had better read the airlines rquirements for a refund. And Shadow is exactly right from what I read. Once you are out of Phils, that card is void and you start over again when you get here. On a different note. Welcome to our home here. Both the website and to Phils. I am one of those that do not live in Dumaguete, but this site has been an great help to my transition to here in many ways. I live across the water from Dumaguete on Mindanao, north of Cagayan De Oro. But nobody here holds that against me (I hope). Again, welcome, I think it's Rhoody's turn to buy the beer.
i-ACR I think the best thing i have heard about being here is 'its the philipines u just gotta laugh and enjoy it !' Mind if the pound / pesos rate goes down any further i wont be able to afford to stay here oh please go back to 100php to my pound!!
