Ok, so we all try to figure out the workings of phils, the immigration fees, etc. BUT, let's put it in perspective..... Would I rather be back in Houston, Texas, dealing with the US politics, dealing with the oil spill in the Gulf, dealing with the economy, the crime, and everything else there......or would I rather be here? DUH! (Homer Simpson) At least here we can use "fixers" to get some things done. I just got my drivers license for 2500 pesos. No physical, no drug test, no written test, no driving test, no standing in any line. You gotta love this system.
Hi Im Moveing there very soon ??? Hi I'm Moving there very soon, I will be staying forever if i can. one of the questions i have is, how do i get around paying for a return ticket when i don't plan on returning???, Can i buy a ticket there and then one from there to hong kong and just lose the small ticket worth about $60 Canadian or do i have to lose $800 for the return trip ??
Yes, any cheap throw away ticket out of the country is all that is required. Check out Welcome To Tiger Airways Larry
In 5 years of travel through out SEA.I have never been asked to see a return ticket at passport control.
it is not about your experience, it is about the legal-situation. The only point you are correcy that it is not the passport-control, but the duty of the airlines.
Of course hindsite is all 20/20 vision. And everyone above is correct as far as I know. It just has to be "into phils" and "out of phils". But, even knowing that ahead of time, it never dawned on me to get a "out of phils" ticket to the next nearest place (DUH!). So, I ended up paying $2,177.00 US and loosing the return half. Now I know (but too late).
