New to the area - any tip on where to buy a petrol lawnmower? Thanks

 

hi- are you living there all alone by yourself? no g/f to ask to? no, not negative but she should know where to buy.

our trusted hardware suppliers and the likes are Golden Rule Store and Matiao Trading. don't know if they got new names now but if you ask drivers they know the place. Golden Rule Store is located at the Maria Christina Street and Matiao is in the main street (i don't know the name of the street no more, but where all establishments are mostly situated, say the main entrance of lee plaza, fortune mart ---> that street).

Matiao has several types of lawnmower, it is on Perdices street.

 

thank you, firefly. yes, the perdices street. in my lifetime that street has had 2 names: first it was alfonso XIII street, and now perdices street.

The prices of lawn mowers are outrageous in the Philippines if you compare with U.S. prices! The best deal you will probably get will be at omega store just after the old bridge

 

yeah bikerdave knows where to find the best prices for those kind of stuff...some natives are not even aware of omega...

did u mean petrol operated brush cutters? go for the float type carburetors (the petrol tank is above the engine) rather than the diaphragm type carburetors ( the petrol tank is located at the bottom)..just a recommendation..

but for lawnmowers...omega, matiao, golden rule, or citihardware

 

True enough, they will merrily sell you the cheapest machine available at any Walmart for $100, for a mere P14,000 or so.

For that money get a Carabou or two. They will also help furtilize your yard.

 

And the flies will feed the Geckos! Talk about going green! :D

 

or just release a few goats in the lawn, they can keep the grass mown...
