I am more distracted by pedestrians in sexy outfits walking on the sidewalk than by any of those devices :woot::woot:

That is something I have wondered about, as I use to use Night Driving glasses when I first started driving that were tinted darker to the top to clear at the bottom, so you could easily tilt your head to cut down the glare of the oncoming headlights. I have not seen any glasses like this in the last 30+ years of driving, I thought they were a great concept, but always thought/assumed that tinting your front screen would make it much more dangerous to see at night, especially with pedestrians who insist on walking along the roadside with their backs to you and the amount of idiots here with little to no lighting! The last thing I would want is to be arrested here over killing someone I did not see due to dark tint on my windscreen... :o o:

Why tint the windshield at all ? Wear sunglasses if it bothers you.

Assuming you have air conditioning in your car, the tint reflects the sunlight and keeps the inside cooler.
In Canada I had tinted film installed over the south facing windows of my house for the same reason. Anyone know who installs tinted film on house windows here?

    UPDATE:
New law bans small children from riding motorcycles starting May 19
New law bans small children from riding motorcycles starting May 19

    By TED CORDERO, GMA News

Small children are banned from riding motorcycles along national roads and highways nationwide by virtue of the Children's Safety on Motorcycles Act or Republic Act 10666, which takes effect starting Friday, May 19.

"Only children whose feet can reach the foot peg, could wrap their arms around the driver’s waist, and wears protective gear such as a helmet may be allowed to ride on a motorcycle with an adult," Transportation Assistant Secretary Richmund de Leon said in press conference in Mandaluyong City on Wednesday.

Under the RA 10666, any person driving a two-wheeled motorcycle can no longer take a child for a ride along public roads where the volume of vehicle traffic is heavy, or where there is high-density of fast-moving vehicles, and where the speed limit is more than 60 kilometers per hour.

Exemptions apply to cases such as transporting a child under emergency situations and in need of immediate medical attention.

Violators will be fined P3,000 on their first offense, P5,000 on their second offense and P10,000 on their third offense and suspension of driver’s license for a month.

"Violation beyond the third time shall result in automatic revocation of the offender's driver's license," according to RA 10666.

The Land Transportation Office is the lead implementing agency and may deputize traffic officers of the Philippine National Police, Metropolitan Manila Development Authority and local government units to enforce the law.

RA 10666 was signed on July 21, 2015 but will only be implemented this year.

"'Yung pag draft ng implementing rules and regulations involves public consultation with various stakeholders. Medyo natagalan ang pag-implement kasi nagkaroon ng gap dahil sa transition into the new administration," De Leon noted.

The Transportation official emphasized the importance of the new law, citing the World Health Organization's 2015 Global Status Report on Road Safety. The report noted 53 percent of road fatalities on record in the Philippines involved motorcycle riders.

If your air-con doesn't keep the inside of your car cool without window tint it is not working properly and needs to be serviced. Front windshields should never be tinted as it is downright dangerous....and illegal. (Most laws allow for the top 6 inches to be tinted.)

Tinting windows (auto or home) for temperature control has little correlation with % shade of the tint and everything to do with UV efficiency. A very high rated UV but very little tint will do more than a non UV rated maximum tint application. Not only will the car feel cooler, the 'magnifying glass' feeling of the sun shining through the window on your skin will be gone. Added bonus, fabric upholstery/carpeting etc will not fade.

This forum says its fine for you to just post "disagree" on my response without any research, comments, links or facts. But since I have done some homework on it I shall post my findings right here and now:
    Yes.jpg
This is why I do not like Dustin's system of just posting "disagree" with no input. Where are your reasons for disagreeing?

Huh :tinfoil:there's a disagree button!? Ooops, off topic again... can you elaborate the "sexy walking on the sidewalk distraction thing" on your reply?
