I agree that you can do that as an OWD. But maybe it isnt the best idea to do private dives as a real newbie. Whatever, i would be glad, to meet you and do some nice dives. Frank
OW does not mean newbee. Many of my diver were OW with hundreds of dives. I think I had 200+ before continuing with courses upto MSDT. Sure I dive with anybody as long there is not much work or organisation involved. To be honest, If I need to do anything more than meeting u,p grasping a tank and weights, go diving, I charge, unless it goes somewhere thrilling I've never see before.
I'm staying in Dauin these days.. haven't done any serious diving for 6-7 years, but did the Padi OWD-course ten years ago, and would like to go diving with someone more experienced than myself.
If you haven't really done any diving in 6-7 years, I highly recommend a professional refresher. Being a few hours with professional guidance and advices in the water, getting all important skills up to speed again makes simply sense and is way more enjoyable than struggling with buoyancy and all other stuff when diving with a buddy.
well, I know buoyancy is not a problem - did a couple of dives 2 months ago, and had no problem lingering around 15m depth 2 x 30 mins.
Hi, I arrive in Dgte next weekend. I'll be looking to shore dive and maybe we can hook up. My accommodations etc are still to be confirmed but I have flights! Maybe see you next week. Regards, Andy.
Have anyone an advice for a cheap transportation to carry the tanks and waiting while the dives? Is it a good idea to hire a tricycle for some hours? What a price is to estimate for maybe 4 hours? I know only in Dumaguete a place, where i can rent tanks/weights. If i want to go to Apo, have you any advice of a shop in Dauin or Zamboanguita, which is renting out tanks and weights as well? So there is no need to carry the tanks from Dumaguete to Malatapay. Thanks
Hi Kibuu, I am now staying in Dauin, km10. I have rental car and rent tanks daily. I'm looking for buddy to share dives, beach entries along this coast. I like long slow dives looking for critters/macro /photo. If you have your own equipment (or can rent easily) and live nearby or can get here, then we can share my car and explore. I know about 15-20 sites with shore entry. Costs will be share of car rental and fuel (maybe p 200-300/day) plus tank fills (p150 each) and sanctuary fees (p150/dive) if asked for by officers. So, two dives per day will cost you minimum p500-p80 0. A bargain compared to resort diving at p2500 per dive! I did 40+ dives here last year, all shore entry, some dives superb, ot hers quiet. My number is 09165065625. I hope you can join the fun. Regards, Andy
Hey Andy, i am on Bantayan in the moment. I guess, i come to Dumaguete again on monday. I give you a call.
Hi Kibuu, I look forward to meeting up and going diving. Are you diving in Bantayan? How is it? What's the accommodation options like? Celphone signal is sometimes poor here so maybe sms if unable to call. Regards, Andy.
