    There's a new guy in town who flew Cobra attack helicopters (Germany), and once he grew tired of that - he worked his way up to captain on 747s

    Nice resume (cobra's to 747's) but as you stated he is a new guy here and probably knows little about the system here. Bryan has extended an offer to talk with the original poster. He has been here a decade, has a plane and current endorsements and knows damm near everything thats going on about aviation here. Go see him, any other info is probably not current or applicable.
