I've lived in a couple of places in the States where I had no choice but to use bottled water as the tap water hit us all up with bad tummies - but not because of contaminants like you've mentioned. We pay P25 for 5 liter bottle, same as wry's above image. That's delivered. We go through about 3 a week. Just the two of us. So it's very cheap.

Thanks Jack! Always good to have a realistic budget with basic factors included into the mix. Having lived in a part of the Pacific Northwest where we get plenty of rain, and having adequate aquifers that are very drinkable from the tap, I had overlooked the idea of not having access to a year-round supply of good drinking water. We decided against drilling for a well. Instead we will install a 2000 liter stainless steel tank with a pump coming off the mainline to our house and run a pipe from the tank to the house increasing the water pressure and a 4 or 5 day reservoir in the event the barangay water is off. Should take about 6 days to complete.
Did I understood your post correctly. Are you using a pump to suck water out of the mainline? Bad Idea! If you are sucking from the line there can be problems!! I connected a pump to my mainline that way and I pulled in sand and junk from all the leaks. Any surface water that got sucked in would be of questionable quality. Now I just let the water flow into my tank whenever it's available and use a pressure pump/tank to feed the house.

Just texted my guy after your good input. Thankfully, the pump will be going from the tank to the house. Good catch Show Pony. Total cost for all the materials will be PHP46,665 plus labor
Still think that's a bit high on materials and labour on top pat! I mentioned to you are probs which are now sorted as you know mate, and now are sorted. If there ain't no water from the lutao pump youre still not going to get any water pressure to the tank. Once the tank runs dry you will need turn off the pump before the bearings run dry and you know as well as I do pumps here don't last that long. Did you price the materials yourself ?
