My daughter suffered terribly with fungal eczema when we lived there. We went to a couple of the more reputable dermatologists there, and found that one in particular wanted you to purchase her "specially prepared" creams, etc...be careful, these are very over-priced and from my best recollection, I was able to reproduce the ingredients myself much cheaper (I read the ingredients and just purchased the same things and had my daughter apply them individually). I am not going to mention her name because I don't think there is anything wrong with her credentials or what she prescribed, I just feel she has buckled to western standards of having her own line of over-priced products.
Would you trust her to diagnose the difference between a mole and skin cancer? If so I need to go see her.
... or, less fatal, the difference between a skin tag and a wart; and more common, the difference between tinea versicolor and vitiligo?
Also near Cangs in Daro is "Skin Doctor". She successfully removed a couple of plantar warts three years ago, which have not grown back. For my own future reference, I'd be interested to hear how this one compares with Dr Munoz, who was mentioned in another comment. Skin Doctor Clinic - Dumaguete City - Medical centre | Facebook
Dr. Tanya Upitching-Ramos, at TRU Dermatology, just north of Silliman Pharmacy, behind new 7-11. She does my psoriasis. 09175832408
My skin is prone to cancer had a tumor cut out, non-melanoma but needed cutting out. I'm a bit skeptical about these dermatologists over here. Had a few smaller ones that could be treated with an anti-cancer cream.
I have used TRU Dermatologie, Dr. Tanya S. Ramas-Uypitching. The office is across from Silliman Hospital (in the building behind the 7-Eleven.) She is pleasant and seems very thorough in her explanations. She trained some in Canada, for whatever that might be worth. I will definitely go back there when I need a dermatologist. +63 35 421 2830 +63 917 583 2408
For an aged person with health conditions that can complicate, it will still be safer to look up a less popular MD duly certified to have studied in and passed a 3-year dermatology residency training program than to look up a popular MD reputed only for franchised cosmetic procedures or distribution of brand preparations to patients. Here are the professionally-certified dermatologists in Dumaguete; but, having no skin issue apart from diabetic skin tags and dry skin itchiness, I have no personal experience of their services: 1. Dr. Estrella T. Borromeo, Clinic: Gov. Larena Drive, Taclobo Crossing, Dumaguete City; Phones: (035) 422-9019, (035) 422-1907 2. Dr. Geraldine A. Galos, Clinic: Silliman University Medical Center, Aldecoa Rd., Daro, Dumaguete City; Phone: (035) 420-2126 3. Dr. Gayle Louise O. Villarmea, Clinic: Skin Doctor Dermatopathology Clinic, Aldecoa Road, Daro, Dumaguete City; Mobile: +639175837120; Clinic Schedule: Monday - Saturday 10 am to 6 pm Besides, for reimbursement claims abroad, health insurers will be looking for credentials.
i walked into the muñoz clinic one morning last week to inquire about having a skin tag removed. she gave me a local nummer and burned it off. i walked out 1/2 hour later, less the skin tag and p1000. no receipt
