There is one very close to Silliman in Piapi across from Nevas Pizza on Amigo St. called Hassaram Courtyard. I've been in the 3 bedroom before and was impressed with the quality and size.

    WOW!

    YOU GUYS ARE THE BEST!

A GIGANTIC THANK-YOU TO AZON for volunteering to be my shopper/guide/Purchaser on the Furniture/Big Ticket Items Hunt.

Azon's offer to assist means a lot to me, and I am very pleased your wife Azon will be with me for this part of my relocation to Dumaguete.

Her knowledge of the local area, her bargaining skills, and her decorating eyes will be VERY much appreciated.

Azon and I will have FUN on this adventure of putting together a nice-looking and functional living space that won't break the bank.

And no worries. Please rest assured knowing I've got your backs on this one.

    THANK YOU AZON!!!

    V/R,

It's 28,000 for the fully furnished. 22,500 is semi furnished. All the difference in the world.

    Thanks Wyre83!

While I like/prefer the look of wood over bamboo, it's really no big thing as long as the place makes decorative sense and looks reasonably color/style balanced.

Functional and practical works for me.

Thanks for the head's up about the expense of the TV and other electronic gear. I'm hoping to bring my computer stuff with me (except printer) and a couple of other small related items.

I'm thinking of a 2 bdrm. so I can set up a dedicated study space that is air-conditioned, and, it will have a door I can shut so I don't have to look at it all the time.

    Dear Forum Members:

Regarding the Hassaram Courtyard in Dumaguete:

If a person elects to lease an UNfurnished unit, how easy (or difficult) is it to find and get delivered/set-up all the furniture, bedding, curtains, TV, and kitchen essentials from retailers around Dumaguete?

Looking at the interior pictures of the Hassaram Courtyard (Dumaguete) furnished 2 bedroom units, and then looking at the rental price differences for their furnished and unfurnished 2 bdrms., if a person were to stay three years (36 months), the cost difference for the furnished model over the unfurnished model is 198,000 PHP more for the furnished model over a 36 month rental period.

Just wondering if I could outfit a 2 bdrm. to at least the furniture/quality standards as they have in their pictures, and spend less than 198,000 (to include delivery and set-up).

198,000 PHP is around 4,500 USD at today's exchange rate (44:1).

Yeah, I know I'd have to have one heck of a "Everything Must Go!" whole house full yard sale at the end of my stay. But at least I'd recoup a little bit at the end, and have a lower monthly rent to pay for 36 months (up to 48 months).

Would the regular DI Forum Members please kindly take a look at the Courtyard interior pictures and give me your thoughts on this?

This seems like a good place to stay - close to Silliman U, has internet, appears safe and secure, and looks like I can catch a Pedicab(?) fairly easily from this location until I can get my own wheels (no wheels during my 1st year).

    Thank-you!

    V/R,

Yea I like this place a lot as long as I were able to get the unit I want and get it on a monthly basis without being locked in a year lease. If its that nice I might rent longer but don't want to be stuck .Thank You

Nice, I've added the 1 bedroom apartment to my list of "look at." Thanks for posting.
