Dumaguete is a small city and so are distances within the city.
Edelweiss is less than 1 km from the market if you mean this for downtown.
There is abundant public transportation for less than 10 pesos to almost any place in the city.
There are only a few taxis but hundreds of pedicabs(motor with sidecar) to choose.
The area around Edelweis restaurant is a save place, it is on the main road to Valencia.

There is a thread on this forum about the place, maybe do some searching and you will find info you want, or maybe not want. Let's just say at least one previous tenant was slightly unsatified.

I actually haven't been in them after they were finished, I saw them when still under construction and the size and location seemed convenient. But as a matter of fact I can't say much about them.

The problems I heard were basically all related to a lack of clear communication between the the 2 parties, but did not hear bad things about the apartments itself.

Speaking for me, I will fall in a trike on Saturday evening, just to punish another location with my presence and rely after that on a trike-driver to drop me at the address printed on my T-Shirt... hehe

    j@j,
About 8 months ago i have seen one of the appartments, the monthly rent was 24,000 pesos.(cheaper for longterm rental)
The appartment has a complete kitchen including plate, fork etc.
It has 1 bedroom with TV,1 bathroom, no living room and a washing place with washingmachine and some space to dry the laundry.
    It is upstairs, no elevator.
There was another appartment with separate livingroom at a higher cost.

Beware of extra charges... extra for water, extra for drinking water, extra for cable TV, extra for *shared* internet, extra for phone, they may mark-up the electric rates as well...all tolled, they added up to P29,000 plus when I looked at the apartments.

That amount typically rents one a 300+/- square meter house in DGT, not a 60 square meter apartment...

24.000 peso is a high monthly renting rate in Dumaguete, and as derivative_guru say will usually get you a big house not just an apartment. However then the house is usually also not furnished and electricity, internet etc. is also not included, so this is additional anyway.

Still a place like Dumaguete Spring apartments is probably best suited for a person planning to stay in Dumaguete for a number of month, not for several years, as the latter person might get more value for his money elsewhere.
