Redirections caused by malware can not be uninstalled that way. If a redirection does reappear after changing then this is most time a sign of active malware.

My understanding is Apple iPad is protected from getting a virus?
The source may have come from the App Store. My boy downloaded 3 games the other day, about the time I noticed the site showing up and not clearing. I just checked the App Store and was surprised there are 100+ adult chat/dating sites. I didn't see the specific POS on my iPad listed but similar names. Maybe that is how the entry occurred.

Malware on an ipad sounds odd but still possible. Try reinstall the browser. Other better way: backup your ipad with itunes and then factory reset it.

I see there are a lot of folks asking Apple for help with the same problem.

Probably what you're looking at is something like what is being described in this article.

How to kill the evercookie and supercookie, the cockroaches of tracking

If the presented options in the interface won't get rid of it, then there may not be much more that you can do. I could probably go spelunking through the files and remove the actual files which hold this info, but I'm not sure it's worth the bother. This thing that you are seeing probably isn't doing enough to warrant much concern.

I bet deleting your user account and creating a new one would get rid of it though. Is it worth doing that? I suppose that depends on how much it's bugging you.

Malwarebytes probably won't do much for you.

I believe that only works for Windows. Malware shouldn't be an issue for Mac or Linux. Simply put, someone was looking at porn on the computer. Having a site in your browser history does not mean that you have an account with the website. I would only start asking questions about accounts if I were getting emails from the website.

Check the browser history if someone was really on that site. If not then either someone wiped the history or the chances are high that it was coming from a malware loaded website.

Probably there is an app (only from app store) helping you to fix the issue. Use only programs with ratings above four points/stars and with more than 100k downloads. Read the feedbacks from the users.
