I just bought my ticket back to the philippines yesterday and I'm coming back november 3rd..I'm considering staying in Manila a few days only to pursue ACR cause i will be staying philippines for 8 months straight.......Do I need to worry about it right away or is it better to wait after 6 months of visa extensions,is it available anyway in dumaguete yet. and when I do get it is it a one day ordeal or do I need to budget a few days or a week in a hotel in Manila or CEBU....Also the American embassy briefing in april or may said that U.S. citizens were not required or that the US embassy officials got no such requirement notice,so embassy says no worry,is it possible its a general policy but certain nationals can be exempt? Do I sound confused? Um sorry for bringing this up again but i just cant remember details from previous threads even though I read them before many times over...

    Tunji,
An American friend arrived 2 weeks ago, After his initial 21 days he was required to get his temporary acr card from the Dumaguete Boi Office.

So does getting the temporary one in dumaguete mean that they will mail the permanent one later or does he have to go beyond dumaguete at any time for alien registration card related things? I would love to just get straight out of manila when I arrive and be in dumaguete the same day or next day...Thanks man..

    Tunji.

I assume you will be arriving on a tourist visa. If I'm correct, After 21 days you will need a temporary acr card good for 1 year. That will cover your 8 month visit here. It can be done here in Dumaguete.

you don't get a temporary here. It is the regular ACR-I card like you get in any BoI in the Philippines with your visa status on it. takes about 14 days.

for tourist-status nothing changed, tourist visa (up to 21 days), visa - waiver (21-59 days), bi-monthly visa extension,(up to 24 month) plus the additional ACR-I card (valid for 1 year) if staying longer than 59 days.
