I sent Maria to an ISP co. to get our internet hooked up. The ISP Co. is SmartBro. I got it home and tried to hook up and it would do NOTHING!. We took it back and told them that I did not want their service because it DID NOT WORK! They refused to refund my 999 PHPs. I did not use their service because it DID NOT WORK. I was unable to get on the net for even one second. I demanded a refund and the (lady?) refused. I want you folks to know that SmartBro. is nothing but a rip-off Co. We did get on line with I.T. Tech. and they appear to be up-front, honest people. Buyer Be Were!
Sorry you had troubles. I will be searching for internet in Nov when we get there. We are going to be up the hill from sibulan city about a mile and a half. Not sure that there will be signal where the house is. Can you tell us more about I.T. Tech?

grandpainak, Sorry to hear about that, I have Smart Bro with the antenna on the roof, so far it's working good and I live in Sibulan. I have heard from many people that are not satisfied with the Smart usb device and also that Globe is having lots of outages. I hope this is of some help. Ron
SmartBro Supervisor Well if you are a SUPERVISOR, just why is it you can not point these kinds of problems out to your higher-up? You afraid to speak up, for fear of getting fired? If I were you boss and you did not speak-up when what you had to say could help improve the Co.'s image I would fire you for allowing this kind of BAD-mouth advertising to go on without bringing it to my attention. In my eyes you are a p*ss-pore employe. Just another example of why SmartBro is on my sh*t-list. Don't get me wrong I am Not blaming you for all of SmartBro's problems. I was even a supervisor for time warner cable road runner internet. we handled almost all the states and i have to tell you, even that company sucked
Have used Smart internet connection for several years, in Valencia with an antenna and in South Bacagay with no antenna. During this period there were a few times the connection was not available for several days and I received a credit from Smart. In September my monthly fee will be lowered to 799 pesos. That is around $15 a month for unlimited internet...a bargain. Never had a problem with the customer representatives at Smart.
Can you get foxtel with a satellite dish there in Dumaguete? I got it here and it's excellent reception on a plasm screen.
Doubtful, as you are in the southern hemisphere and the Philippines is in the northern hemisphere. If you can find out the name of the satellite they use though there is a way to check with Satellite Finder Online.
