If you are 60+ you cannot get into dumaguete city without a pass or certificate from barangay captain. This targeted action on 60+ people causes many problems; however, it is the law of our host country. Having asawa run errands is only a solution of you married somebody young. If you married in the same age bracket, she is banned too. The Barangay here understands the problem; though they do not say so, I think they know this is not well thought-out for foreigners but there is nothing they can do about it. I am really impressed by barangay here; they never fail to give a certificate whenever we ask. Hope most expats 60+ with asawa of same age has a barangay captain like ours. We will not forget the kindness.
