They call those people swingers. LOL. Is that a thing in the Philippines?

This Ford Pickup has to be about the ugliest car I have ever seen, perhaps designed in the form of a Sherman tank? to dress it up it requires a gun turret on the top, if that is your desired car take a look at a Hilux that will still be going long after that Fecking Ford has died, why would you ever need a big gas guzzling pickup especially when it can never get into top gear on PH roads, many rural roads and side streets in PH are quite narrow, when you are faced with a tricycle coming in the opposite direction the drivers just don't give a sh*t, they really don't care all that much to preserve their own vehicle? Better you spend some time driving a more practical car in PH and only then decide if a 4x4 is suitable? LOOK BEFORE YOU LEAP.

Did you know they can be re-sleeved to have the cylinder tight again, all it needs is a Ham Bone inserted to then draw out the Bone.

I would look at the Nissan Navara in a 2wd, you will get one that's under 2 years old and under 30,000km for around 7 - 800k. Nicer to drive than the Ford and cheaper.

I have owned a few dual cab trucks or utes we call them in Australia, very practical. (Never a Nissan but have driven them)

The Raptor is a nice looking rig but a big car for the roads and you will look like a mobile ATM machine.

Stay away from the small muli cab type cars unless you are only driving around town and not on the big roads. Those things are a death trap in a accident, buy something that has a 5 star Amcap rating.

I for one just like a second hand small car, the smaller the better and if I crash it up than just leave it on the side of the road to let some Goat live in it rather than trying to get an insurance check. Than buy another. Maybe that's just me but when I bought a car here in the Philippines I think it as to be affordable to dispose of.

    But it's not comprehensive !
We found this out many years ago when we bought a new car and after the free registration for 3 years was up we went to register it and was told our "comprehensive" insurance did not include TPL third party liability which is a requirement for registration.
I questioned this with the in charge at our insurance office and asked why it's called comprehensive he said it was a misnomer.

    Misnomer—What Is It?
    • A misnomer is a name that is incorrectly applied to something.
    • Misnomer is often confused with other kinds of mistakes, such as misconceptions, faulty statements, or incorrect...

The most likely way it will go wrong is that while you are not there they will sell it.

Cannot recall the make, but my neighbour has not long since acquired a 4x4 'Rusco style' mini-pickup, parts from Japan and re-assembled in Philippines. OK for their needs, but no power steering and the driving seat does not adjust backwards/forwards. I never sat in it, but I suspect if it's comfortable for them, then anyone over 5'6" might struggle to fit comfortably, especially if in middle to old age and suffer from any muscular-skeletal impairments. Not sure whether Ruscos are the same, but something to bear in mind.

I own a Nissan Navarra 4 x 4 and I am more than happy with it.

Most important, I feel pretty safe. It's not about top speed or horsepower. It all about safety.

    Just my opinion.

Safety must be the priority absolutely.

I have and drive a Honda CRV automatic in the Philippines, seems sturdy to me. It's medium size compared to the Navarra or Raptor. The Raptor says look at me I've arrived or rather thinks it does, not exactly ugly, more brutality over the top. Toyota seems to be favourite for reliability, Nissans OK though, understated, I like the look.

I might well get a bigger truck simply for the added safety, I like a lot of metal around me just in case. As for the Rusco, rode in one on Bohol, death trap, very noisy and uncomfortable unless you're a dwarf. One up from a trike.
