Friend of mine buys the sourdough at Why Not and he says it is very good. I have seen it and it looks baked correctly. I do understand from others that the French Bakery bread discussed is good if you get it fresh. I've never eaten anything from Rollin Pin. Here is some I just made, ready to be baked. challah and ciabatta, 3 strand and 6 strand braid.
The bread sold by the Rolling Pin (that was Ludwig's German Bakery) opps Hypermarket and next to the 7-11...is still the same range of breads I have found.Wholewheat,Multigrain and Rye breads. Also for those on the northside the Breaktime Restobar in Sibulan bakes Weds everyweek.. Corn Bread, Onion Bread and my favourite Raisin Bread. You have to order before Weds. They have a phone number on their facebook page.
Breaktime also are doing a very good pizza and chilli fries for takeaway every day. They have a more extensive menu on their FB page but I particular like these two items.
Update: the breads at Rolling Pin (was Ludwig's German Bakery) opps the Hypermarket....are NOT the same anymore sadly. Not sure if you can order the rye or multigrain...think you can. Shopped there this morning. They sell a Wholewheat loaf for P100 (good price)... nice looking loaf with more volume that Ludwig's wholewheat due to a lighter texture (added white flour to help get a better shaped loaf perhaps?). So a lighter texture less closed crumb...nice flavour and mouth texture... perhaps prefered by many. But I miss Ludwig's denser German breads... anyone know if he has retired completely or may open again somewhere?
Follow the road which follows the airport runway, first right after the airport going north, take the sharp left at the end of it otherwise you will end up in a dirt track, and its on your left about 100 metres further on.
The Google map is correct, but the text is leading you off the highway into the wilderness, perhaps to Touchdown restaurant or Agan-an beach, your wheels torn up by potholes, your heart chilled by barefaced, scofflaw teenagers. The map is correct, you drive north on the highway from Sibulan center past the elementary school, past Cubierto's Restaurant (offers take-out and delivery). EXCEPT that Break Time will be on your left, driving north, not on your right.
thanks for clearing that up, jim787, not to be picky but that stretch of the hi-way is running east and west 8^)
