That's country life Jim, you didn't mention also being surrounded by ignorant yokels, we are seriously thinking of moving back into the city where it's (slightly) more civilised.

I cannot see how a move to the city would be any improvement to your quality of life there, in fact you would just be jumping out of the frying pan and into the fire in my view? That is where Cabb has his house perhaps you could become neighbours with him and share this great experience together?

I can just imagine the two of you sitting together having a Beer on the Veranda, scowling away like the two old grumpy BarStewards from the Muppets.

There is just no way to avoid noise pollution there in PH it is everywhere,

Hoots Mon! Yer Doomed a tell ye jist Fecking Doomed.

The time has come the Walrus said to speak of many things...
Of Roosters, pigs and hens, and all the Yokelling
Once you found, your great escape from the daily grudge and grime,
you lelt old Englands shores, away from immigrants and crime
The grass for you was greener then, in the land of sun and smiles
Now wishing for the city life, along with all its trial's

I fell your pain. Do you also live in a subdivision with lots averaging 300 sqm?

I must be the luckiest guy in Dumaguete, living in a subdivision that I often compare to an oasis of quiet with no streetdogs, no neighbours with loud dogs either, no roosters nearby, no pigs or chicken farm, main road just far enough away that we only hear the occasional big bike with a rider that wants his presence to be known far and wide.
Of course there is the occasional karaoke party, but even those are rather modest in both duration and volume.
Anyone interested to buy a place here, there's currently several houses for sale here (not very cheap though).
The one below is not for sale.
