CDR King at Robinsons Mall has the "brown out" battery powered, rechargeable fans.

I was thinking about picking one up myself.

Just a small point, but the OP didn't say "battery backed up" fan, what he said was "battery back up" fan, as in a battery powered fan to back up the standard plug powered fan when the plug powered fan wont work because of brownout.:(:(

yea...I guess I was looking at the "electric" part since that is actually redundant. Thinking he meant ac electric...it could also be an electric fan for his battery backup couldn't it? :D

What I use is a regular fan and a large back up power supply that is commonly used for computers.

    hi...
    sorry guys : )
a more accurate description would be ''an electric fan with a battery backup.''
the power goes out and the battery in the fan housing keeps it going.

i'm on my way to robinsons now and i'll report back for anyone else interested...

You might want to look for a Firefly FEL601. It's got a rechargeable battery back up for its fan and light. It lasts a few hours on battery, and the battery can be replaced. I know Uymatiao has them for p1400. You might find one cheaper at Lee Plaza - don't know why, but the same unit I bought at Lee is a Kyowa.
