I also wonder about people with 2 or more phones and never answer them unless they recognize the number. Maybe its a status symbol thing, i now feel inadequate / insignificant only having 1 ATM card and 1 phone that only rings when i am driving or having a poop, can't say sh*t.
I know, I use a tablet phone because I'm only going to have one device and I have an ATM and debit card for the same account in case one gets screwed up.
AHA, I found out it is set by the bank. I can now get 3 withdrawals of 10K in a day with my local bank card at their atm and if I try a 4th time it says "Sorry, your daily limit has been reached"
When I first got stuck behind a girl with about 10 ATM cards I assumed she was withdrawing cash for her friends at work. My wife didn't think that anyone, ANYONE would trust a co-worker with their PIN and ATM. Could you picture this scene; "Gee so sorry I didn't lose your ATM card and it wasn't me that stole your money". Just on an aside very few Filipinos have bank accounts except for those that get paid by direct deposit. I read somewhere that only about 10% of the population has a bank account.
DDCO Credit lending use an ATM card for Borrowers as do some more so it may well be this. When you borrow money they issue you an ATM card for use at ATM's when they borrow more it is just put into that account. You don't actually receive money from these people they set an account up with a value and you draw as you like. Maybe this is what is happening.
I despised waiting in line at the ATM's!! I always felt that after 3 tries that the person should have to go to the back of the line so others could do their business. Maybe by the time they got back up there they would have it all figured out!! A guard could stand at the ATM's and police that......So glad to be back in the US, where I never have to wait in line at the ATM!!
Well you could always go inside and wait in the air conditioned bank line for a teller. But if you bank is anything like mine, there is a 100 peso charge to withdraw from my account at the teller whereas the ATMs (for that branch) have no fee for withdrawal.
My solution is to plan ahead a little bit. That way if there is a line I can just go later (same day or next day or two). Yesterday, was thinking about hitting the ATM Monday or Tuesday. Walked by the ATM, no line so I went ahead and stopped. No stress and I'm good until July now.
Anytime after 8-9pm and before 7am is a good time to stop by any atm. My only problem is staying sober enough to remember my PIN number.
