"I am sure these people are also favorable of the creation of the Negros Island Region and passporting is just one service we can actually enjoy as an offshoot of this. We are actually thankful that due to the number of passport applicants from our province, DFA created a satellite office here. Can you imagine if we are still using the regional set-up? All of us, including the elderly, will have to take a trip to Iloilo just for that. Last week, my daughter, Grace, also had to spend overnight in Iloilo where she, along with some colleagues, had to go to the PRC for the renewal of their licenses. Just imagine the expense it takes us to do that when the same can be done here when the island region plan can be implemented.
