    There is one other option that you might explore and it seems very good on the surface. I just have not taken the time to investigate it farther along to make sure. If you are so inclined take a look here

    XE Trade Money Transfers

    Ok instead of editing and adding ..The reason I thought it so interesting is the bid for a price. It litterly puts one into the forex trading without paying any vig. You can request a rate. You can look at the previous 6 hours of trading at the highs and lows and most likely get the rate you want to trade at. Some one who can get the even higher rate will collect your sum on his way and your trade or transfer of fund will be booked and completed. I have *dabbled* in forex myself a slight bit. I usually got swallowed up by the fee and slowness of my connection to make the trade quick enough to hit the points I wanted.

    I have used them for years. I still do. They are only as good as the Philippine bank they are wiring your money to and I have had many problems over the years, not with XE Trade but with the Philippine banks receiving the wire transfer. But it obviously works as I am still using them.

    My most recent trade was initiated 3 weeks ago. I still do not have the money as my main receiving bank had a problem and they were being obstinate about it being my problem, not theirs, so I had the money recalled and sent to my second bank account. It should be here any day.

    I always keep 2 bank accounts here. As the bank gets to know you their service gets sloppier instead of better, at least that is my experience over 7 years.

    If I asked you to venture a guess..would you say its the bank..or the branch manager that is the problem? I keep 2 accounts with the same bank but different towns/islands I have lived in/on in the past. As I had mentioned prior.. because Xoom was working so well with my Metrobank accounts in the matters of rate/expediency I had stopped looking into XE.

    Might I ask about your transactions? Do you check for a rate and post that? How close to the top rate do you ask? How long might you typically wait for that to clear ( not necessarily show up through the bank ..as you say bank end problems).

    I choose not to get too specific on my financial arrangements but I have no difficulty answering this question: In the past I tried posting a desired rate so that I would get notified as soon as that rate was available. It did not work for me as it never hit the rate I wanted while I had money to buy. There was another option to lock in a rate for a year at 10% down. I wish I had chosen that when the rate was high. Not sure if that is still available and I did not take advantage of it as I was sure the rate would keep going up (eternal optimist). Now I use 'averaging'. I buy every 3 months whatever the current rate is so my rate is averaged over the year.

    It was mentioned to me here to work out a way of having my Pension portalled to the Philippines when I make the move. I do not like to gamble my money on making more from it as my experience is your losses always exceed your wins, so Companies like those suggested where you can buy money etc doesn't interest me...

    From Australia to the Philippines;
    I assume my Pension will be Deposited into my Aussie Account. When I was over last time my ex-Wife handled my money and transferred into my Account I used in the Philippines via a Debit Card. But as mentioned you are limited to how much you can withdraw along with the Fees for withdrawing...

    This is one I will be enquiring about to see what is involved, if it sounds right and is user friendly with being able to access my Pension via the ANZ Bank working between Australia and the Philippines I may go this way, but I am still none the wiser on getting money from A to B and when I am gone I do not think it wise to have family members (or ex's) hands on with my lifeline...

    Some Links Tony as it might also suit you mate;

    ANZ in the Philippines | ANZ Philippines

    Money transfer | ANZ Philippines

    Peso Checking accounts | ANZ Philippines

    Thank you baltoed I have only just discovered the link (why aren't they coloured Blue on this Forum?) at the bottom of your post after emailing the ANZ who by the link are BURGLARS! I will be contacting Pinoy First to see if they might be of any help to me with being able to Portal my Pension Monthly to an Account in the Philippines. Great Link!

    Portal Pension from Australia to the Philippines

    Tony; This maybe of interest to you in regards to transferring money from Australia to the Philippines;

    Okay I Have been doing some digging here in regards to portalling my Pension across in a relatively painless manner, has anyone had experience using Pinoy First? Sounds the goods for me...

    Email and Reply;

    Hello, I'm looking at relocating to the Philippines at the end of this year & need a way to be able to portal my Australian Disability Pension from Australia to the Philippines in an efficient manner.

    I will be living in Dumaguete, Negros Oriental.

    I wish to be able to access my money via the ATM's there, or if possible, via the various Banks there; eg: Philippine National Bank - Metro Bank - Bank of the Philippines Islands - Banco de Oro...

    I do not currently have a Bank Account in the Philippines, but do plan to open a Joint Account with my wife upon my return. I currently Bank with the ****** Bank here in Queensland

    Will I need to change my Pension to another Bank here in Australia to work with your service?
    .
    What are you able to offer, what are the fees etc and are you able to explain the process?

    I am currently familiar with Western Union as I support my Wife and Daughter in the Philippines.

    Hoping we may be of service to each other...

    Thank you, Brian

    ........................................................................................................................

    Hi Brian,

    Thank you for your inquiry. To answer your questions. Yes, we can credit to all banks in the Philippines you have listed on your email. There are just slight differences on the time of arrival. Since we partner with Banco de oro, if its BDO account, funds will be credited just 1-2 hours upon processing. All other bank credits will be done before end of day in the Philippines (same day).

    Please know that certain banks (non BDO) has cut off times. To be sure, please send them before 1 PM Brisbane time. if not, it will land the next day.

    As per your bank, we have NAB, Commbank, ANZ, and Westpac. Should you want your funds to be processed same day, kindly transfer your pension to any of these banks. Otherwise, we can lock in rate the day you send us request and we will process it as soon as we sight your fund transfer (usually 24 hours).

    Fee is just $7, credit to a bank outside Metro Manila.

    As per process, its easy. Just transfer funds to any of our bank accounts, and fill up our Send Money form so we know who and where and how much funds we will send to your nominated bank account in the Philippines. Link is here: www.pinoyfirst.com.au/send-money

    And before we make any transactions, kindly register with us first and have a copy of passport as well sent to us. This is one time and all free registration. Our rate is available on our website and in our social media like Facebook.

    Should you have further question, feel free to message me again. Please know we are closed during the weekends.

    Best Regards,

    Brian
