Ate at Gerry's Lechon Haus today near the Hypermart, someone here asked about where they can buy Lechon Baboy, we bought a 3.75Kg Pork Belly and paid at midday, went back and picked it up at 4pm, weighed it when we got home, 3.75Kg on the knocker and was nice and crispy despite being wrapped up for a good hour, was rolled around spices which gave a nice flavour, chopped it up and got no complaints from the Family who tucked in! (Was MUCH tastier than the Lechon we ate inside Gerry's for lunch!) If you Order Lechon you need to prepay and pick up later in the day... Just throwing the info out there for those looking for tasty Boneless Lechon (with the exception of a few small rib bones)

Hayahay ... been there several times, mostly for lunch. The food is just okay, mediocre, very often the items from the menu that I would like to order are not available. On a nice day, with a nice breeze, at the right time ... it can be a nice relaxing ocean view dining experience. But, more often I find that it's hot and noisy and there is a constant stream of trucks driving by right next to you.

It's been awhile since I've tried many of these places but I agree with most everything you have here. The ones I don't agree with are things I haven't tried before. For the ribs I would say Captain Ribbers but I haven't tried Lord Byrons and it has been awhile since I ate at Ribbers.

The information is already out there on different websites (Including DI Food and Nightlife | Dumaguete Info). The beans have already been spilled.

I agree about Alima, have been visiting a relative in the hospital lately and discovered this place and had lunch there a couple of times. Their sandwiches and pastas are very good.

Had a nice sushi roll combo (shrimp, crab, mushroom) at Bert’s Sushi on south highway in Bacong. Worth a try if you enjoy sushi rolks.

Our favourite is Moon Cafe and Mafioso.
A good mix between price, good service and quality and we visit both every week. We order mostly fish or seafood and are not beef lovers.
A good dinner for two is only 500p :o o:

I agree with you in respect of cost here versus home countries but that is not relevant when comparing places in a local region. Obviously it also depends on finding a particular item of the same quality in different places and making a decision based on that comparison.

Also I made the point, I hope, that Kri is good BUT could be so much better. I would certainly go there to eat their tomato soup at the given price but if I find a better or cheaper one elsewhere (and where the overall meal price is more competitive) then I think I vote with my wallet - as I believe most people do.

Kri has some good points but could be so much better.

Had lunch there - only two of us but they took 15 minutes just to START making the mango shakes. We have had many mango shakes at various restaurants but these ones were VERY weak-tasting - and cost P95 each!

The 'roasted tomato soup' was very tasty but cost P155. I like their 'chicken tikka massala' but it is really such a tiny portion for P199 (even though it is listed as an 'appetiser' it is still poor value). The 'Classic Caesar salad' at P185 consisted of lettuce leaves (as it should) but only 4 croutons, with dressing. The 'baby back ribs' tasted okay but, again, at P230, were poor value for the quantity (my wife's favourite ribs is at Pasta King).

Another very strange thing, for a so-called quality restaurant, is how they patch up their menu (image below) - it really makes it seem shoddy. I counted 18 stickers over menu items and prices; if so many changes are made then reprint it! Capture.PNG
