It's still a circus up there,I have been there twice and never been in with the sharks as there are so many locals out there in small boats, those poor sharks don't stand a chance, just leave them alone and it's not natural. However much I would luv to see them I will not snorkel there!
while I highly appreciate your expert opinion in many topics, in this case you probably just repeat what you heard of somebody who also has not the slightest clue, or no interest. An adult whale shark averages 10 meters (roughly 30 feet). An international longtime study shows, that out of 49 different whale sharks observed in the area 1 (ONE) was around 7 meters, not exactly adult. Try to get hold of the Physalus Report from the University of Plymouth about the Oslob circus. The public available version is already a year old, but Oslob turned out to be even worse now. It gives a good insight how this creatures get treated there inclusive pictures of injuries and infections like below
Sure it's a ciircus now. But definetely better than before when whale sharks hunted. Next stage is learning to behave with wild animals. We in the west also just learning. In some western countries it is legal to keep wild animals as pets. Luckyly in most not. Yes, been to Oslob twice, first time before the circus, a memory for life. Whale sharks @ Oslob HD - YouTube BTW Balicasag islanders were famous whale hunters.
Sorry, I posted what I SAW with my own two eyes about a year ago, and what my wife took videos of. I did not rely on "international studies" for my information. Obviously, you have never been there and are just repeating what someone else has said, who may not have the slightest clue. Other then that, I agree with you, Oslob is a farce. Larry
taking the fact, that that stuff under water appears 33% magnified, your SEEN 25 foot turns out into 16 so 5-6 meters... totally in the range of juvenile whalesharks and a far cry from adults... I admit you just proofed your knowledge to be really outstanding ... clueless. That's one reason why I don't post about US visa, I am certainly clueless in that field...
Speaking of clueless, the whale sharks come to the surface repeatedly. In fact, they spend a large part of their time there. But then again, if YOU had ever been there, of course you would know that! So tell me more about WHO is clueless here. I'm done here, (whatever your name is), please do carry on, it shows more of who your are... Larry
I like your post and all discussion about under water creatures. Your all under water pictures are so nice and looking very beautiful and i get a nice information through your post.
