also, if it hasn't been mentioned before, expats with a ''temporary visitors'' visa (aka, tourist visa), can file the 4 page thingie in DUMAGUETE, at least that's what the duma office told the little woman on the telefone.
of course ur mileage may vary a bit depending on who you talk to and today, of course, depending on the rain...

well I hope the little woman in the Duma office is correct with the information she gave me, I went into the office in January to pick up my p/port & extension form which was held over from December, I asked do I have to do the annual report, she said no because I was leaving the country in February for my 16 month exit.

Don't know how that piece of non-information was created. Expats here on a tourist visa do not need to file the 4 page thingie.

"1. When the alien is below 14 years of age or 65 years of age or over;"

Mokum, as far as I can interpret this litany of requirements, the above implies that you can have someone else deliver the reporting document - just make sure all I's are dotted and all T's are crossed, and that your thumbmarks are in the right place (the Notary Public that will notarize the completed document can ensure it's done properly). It means that the wife / girlfriend of all the old folks here (I'm one of them so don't take this personal) can hop on the bus/ferry to Cebu. Could turn out to be a nice (albeit expensive) shopping trip for them.....

If the paperwork can be submitted by proxy, one that knows how to make sure everything is complete, could be a profitable little side seasonal job!!

If I remember correctly, there were small posters hung up at the time, at "Why Not" and some other places to advertise the possibility to have the procedure done locally...

If you read the requirements, you will find that they don't allow "Agents" to submit papers...
