What is our economic value to the politically connected?

Has anyone ever done a survey to determine how much money is "imported" into the Dumaguete area by foreigners every month. How does it compare to the OFW remittances? I would think that one foreigner would equal to between 5 and 20+ OFW money's sent home. The foreigner's money is somewhat discretionary money too, not necessity purchase money, such as food, but recreational money. Assuming the rich of this country probably put more discretionary spent money profits in the own pockets from expenditures than the hard working lowly farmers do from discretionary money. How much money to we discretionary spend at the local resorts and restaurants here? it would seem that the financially well off political clan members would be interested in looking at the economic value of a the foreign community and to their own pockets too. What economic value are the foreigners to this community?

My 5 cents, why get exited about something that takes about 2 hours of off your boredom and the "Dress Code" is, I think not that hard to follow, all the years I have been in the Philippines I have learned to weight the pros against the contras, +versus-, and 310 PhP a year and two hours of my time is nothing compared to the other freedoms I am allowed here, just don't forget where you are living and why you left at home, it was your choice, remember...

I have heard that there are around 8,000 foreigners here in Duma at any one time, and there is more foreigners per 1,000 locals than any where in the phills, at my guess most would spend 10k per week some less some very much more, the locals earn 3k a month or less, so we spend 14 times what they spend here each month. then consider how many of the extended family members get set up by the foreigner????

Well ,if your figures are anywhere near accurate, that means that 4,160,000,000 is contributed to the local economy by foreigners. Does anyone know what the GDP of Negros Oriental is? Can we make any correlation to the success of the community as related to foreign derived income? What does that do for the average Filipino? How many jobs that does create?

    BOI Field offices???

Will this be available at Dumaguete BOI Office?

Their output of late, is questionable already, a 4 page application form and Fingerprints?

maybe, we will see this happening, to our girls down there.

Not to mention, the additional, tax free amount, in cash, that the News agent or Next Door in the Travel Agent will get from all the copies, we will no doubt need

Has anyone been to the Dumaguete local BI office in person to verify what was first posted. ?
I have looked all over the immigration web site and I can find no such thing as this 4 page report.
I suspect there may be some mis-information posted here.

I bought a printer/scanner/copier in anticipation of printing out all of these very important documents without which BI would be ineffective

Good Boy, may I suggest that you should buy a "Fingerprint Scanner" as well for use in the future, one can not be prepared good enough...

I take it the bi here in Duma will now have an ink pad for the prints! Would be interested to know what will happen when we all start piling in there in jan and if they are prepared for this extra work? Will they recommend a lawyer for the signatures and the stamp! I printed the new form off and it's really ony the front and last page we need to worry about, but it's still a load of bullshit I know.
Going backwards again but nothing surprises me here anymore
