I have been traveling weekly between Bais and Dumaguete for over 5 years. The traffic is continually getting worse by the day. I believe the problem is all the new drivers of all vehicles cars, motorcycles, trucks learn to drive from watching others. The problem is they copy the aggressive bad drivers who have no idea of the proper way to drive. Monkey see Monkey do! Who ever drives the largest vehicle demands the right of way. The Ceres buses are one of the largest on the highway and continually push. If something isn't done here to enforce actual driving laws it will just continue getting worse. Sorry about your friend
no details yet. it just says 2 buses collides Edit by moderator: Removed second picture showing dead/mangled bodies. Do no post gore on the forum.
This one was north of Bacolod, near Victorias City. Got the info via FB from one of my wife's classmates who passed by the accident just after it happened.
CNN News indicated that there are 4 fatalities and 46 wounded. It appears the bus from Bacolod to Escalante tried to overtake another vehicle via the outer RIGHT hand lane (clever idea!!), didnt make it. hit the guardrail, turned over on it's side and slammed into the oncoming bus bound for Bacolod which also turned on it's side. One of the fatalities is the ticket collector of the Bacolod-bound bus.
Hopefully they lock the driver up for the rest of his life. The Philippines needs to start making bad drivers responsible for their actions.
