I can tell you that I had my blood typed by Hi Precision Labs in Cebu a few years back and its the first time I knew my blood type. They gave me a card to put in my wallet which came in handy when I was admitted to SMC a few weeks back. I also found out, during that stay at SMC, that the doctors prefer not to give filipino blood to foreigners as there may be 'bugs' in the blood that the filipino has immunity to after generations of living here but the foreigner does not. And yet they still gave me a pint of blood (after giving me a crap load of benedryl in my IV ) so having foreign donors is preferable. But try and find foreigners who are healthy enough to donate and have not been drinking or taking any medication in the last 24 hours. Its a serious problem. More serious because they do not maintain a large stock of blood. The pint they sold me was the only one in stock. Good thing I got by with only 1.
Same with me Dave Hi Precision Labs in Quezon City, I still carry my card in my wallet. Also the battery of diagnostic tests they performed was extensive. 1st time I ever had a sonogram (performed for my liver.) I don't recall it being very expensive. I'll do it again in a few years.
