In a Regular Meeting on March 21, 2015, the Board of Trustees of Silliman University unanimously voted to extend the term of Dr. Ben S. Malayang III as President of Silliman University for two more years, effective June 1, 2016 to May 31, 2018. A Search Committee in the Board was also organized to oversee the process of identification, screening and nomination of the new President before the extended term of the current President expires. The decision of the Board reinforces the need to sustain the strategic direction of the University through critical years of reforms to Philippine higher education. The same affirms the leadership of the current President in achieving high standards of Christian academic learning, fiscal and financial management, physical plant development, local and international cooperation, and alumni and community relations.
